COMMUNICATION PARTNER MODEL

Teaching and learning assisted augmentative communication (AAC) can be an incredibly challenging process, but it doesn't have to be. With the help of a communication partner model, those with communication difficulties caused by issues such as autism, cerebral palsy, or strokes can learn and develop their communication skills in a safe, comfortable environment. Utilizing active modeling techniques, communication partners can demonstrate how to use AAC systems, allowing the individual to follow along and eventually begin using the system themselves. By engaging in this method of learning, these individuals can begin to expand their communication abilities and transform their lives.
